The HiFiBerry DAC DSP is a small, budget-friendly device that processes and passes a digital optical signal and comes with a DSP. The product comes with the added benefit of being able to do room calibration through HifiberryOS. The embedded DAC sounds good enough, and the optical input works great and mixes both I²S and SPDIF audio automatically. However, the HiFiBerry DAC DSP is not a plug-and-play device, and there is a certain degree of computer science background knowledge necessary to configure it. The product does not support analog signal inputs, and the on-board DAC chip leaves a bit to be desired. Overall, HiFiBerry DAC DSP is an excellent product and provides good value for money. However, users must be prepared to invest substantial effort in setting up and configuring it to their needs.
