Mann Lake Beekeeping Supplies Editorial Review
The Mann Lake Honey Bee Top Feeder has garnered a mixed reception from users, reflecting both its impressive capabilities and design flaws that have led to significant customer dissatisfaction. Many reviewers appreciate the feeder's large fluid capacity and well-thought-out Construction, particularly the ladder feature which aids bees in accessing the syrup. Users find the feeder easy to maintain due to its accessible design. It's noted for its heavy-duty materials and effectiveness in bulk feeding, especially essential during seasons when resources are scarce. Some customers have praised it for minimizing bee loss compared to other feeder types, along with the practical design that aligns well with standard 10-frame hives. However, the product has encountered serious criticism with reports of bees drowning due to design flaws. A notable incident involved users expressing anguish over the death of their bees, attributed to gaps between the safety screen and the reservoir. Disappointment escalated when customers reached out to Mann Lake for support, only to receive a response that suggested users should seal the gaps with silicone—an expectation not mentioned in the product's documentation or listing. This led to feelings of frustration and abandonment, as customers felt that the company was not taking accountability for issues that significantly impacted their beekeeping experience. In summary, while the Mann Lake Honey Bee Top Feeder has the potential to be a valuable tool for beekeepers, unresolved design flaws and a lack of effective customer support have marred its reputation. **
