Thule Rooftop Racks Editorial Review
The Thule DockGrip is a kayak and SUP carrier that fits all hull shapes and can carry up to 85lbs with a weight capacity of 36 inches. The quick flip mounting bracket and T-track hardware allow the carrier to fit most Thule crossbar systems. The rubberised adjustable pads make it easy to securely transport various shaped boats. Reviewers generally agreed that the Thule DockGrip was expensive but also a high quality product. It was said to be easy to install, versatile and ideal for carrying one kayak. The carrier holds kayaks and SUPs in place well and the swivel mount makes loading and unloading easy. The Thule DockGrip was perfect for transporting high-end kayaks but required some guesswork when figuring out where to place the mounting bolts. One reviewer highlighted that the bolts provided for mounting to the Thule Aerobar were too wide and required modification to fit in the T-track. Another reviewer thought the carrier was too high and had to be removed when not in use. However, it was agreed that the Thule DockGrip was a solid piece of equipment that fixed problems when mounting sea kayaks.
