Blu-ray Editorial Review
**** The New Mutants has elicited a mixed response from viewers, showcasing the duality of the film experience. Some viewers found merit in the performances and the horror-infused storyline, appreciating the actors' efforts despite external critiques that may have influenced their perceptions. One customer emphasized that while they initially postponed watching the movie due to negative hearsay, they ultimately found themselves pleasantly surprised, arguing for the importance of forming one's own opinion. However, many reviews pointed out significant shortcomings in character development and writing. The narrative was often described as predictable and lacking depth, suggesting that the film's storytelling felt rushed and undertold. Critics noted that character backstories appeared to be overly simplified, and the plot's pacing left viewers wanting more context and detail. While some praised the aesthetic elements, such as cinematography, effects, and the overall atmosphere, several were left disappointed by the film's execution of the core storyline. Overall, The New Mutants stands out as a film that could not entirely fulfill its potential, leading to a reception that can be summarized as "entertaining, yet flawed." Although it may captivate some viewers with its cast and appeal, many are likely to feel that its narrative lacks the finesse and clarity expected from such a beloved comic series. **
